Mission

Never a Mission Impossible!

“…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” – Matthew 25: 35-36

The hungry child who needs a meal… the mother who seeks refuge from abuse… the cancer patient who needs support… flooded-out families who need anything and everything…

Needs such as these, in both local and global communities, are met and supported by members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church mission team, the church congregation and volunteers.

Why? Because we only walk this way but once, and we are here to serve the less fortunate. We are here to offer forever-hearts-and-hands to those in need. Today it is my hands and your hands, and tomorrow it will be the hands of the generations that follow—always with the belief that, through WPC, never is there a mission impossible!

Westminster’s Commitment to Environmental Stewardship
Westminster affirms that God’s work in creation is wonderful, beautiful, and good. We recognize that as Christ’s disciples we are responsible to do our part to care for creation, for its own sake and to safeguard the well being of people everywhere.

Therefore Westminster is proactive in:
  • Reducing unnecessary consumption.
  • Reusing and repurposing items wherever possible, in order to reduce waste.
  • Educating children and adults to value and respect the environment.
  • Partnering with organizations that work to protect the environment and to promote healthy, sustainable livelihoods for people around the world.
Contact Austin Wicks at awicks@wpcmunster.org or in the church office (219-838-3131) for more information about any missions that compel your support. We would love to have you join us!

OUR MISSIONS

Loaves & Fishes Ministry - Feeding the homeless is serious ministry at WPC! Westminster coordinates 25 churches and organizations to prepare and deliver meals to the City Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter in Hammond, IN. Lunch and dinner is prepared and delivered to the 40-60 men living at the City Rescue Mission in Hammond every day. We’re always in need of drivers, cooks, choppers and pot-scrubbers, so contact the church office if your desire is to help “feed the hungry!”

Loving Hands – Knitters and crocheters meet every Monday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. for fellowship and needlework. This is an ecumenical group providing hand-made articles for organizations, schools, hospitals and people in need worldwide.
